Recap what you learned. What thoughts did you have during the chat? What gems really jumped out at you? Was there anything you read tonight that spoke to your experience? Reflect on those things however you see fit (writing them down, sketching them out, sharing them with a friend, etc). I know how easy it is to get caught up in scrolling but it’s in your stillness that you’ll absorb the information.
Make a list of people you connected with during the chat. Throughout the chat there were hundreds of #blkcreatives sharing their knowledge – some you’ve never met. Let this chat be the platform for building amazing relationships and connections on and offline. Reach out to them via Twitter or email. You never know which person will lead to your next big discovery.
Take execution seriously.
Type in “#blkcreatives” in the search bar to find responses and pick one that you can implement in the next 24 hours, write down how you’re going to accomplish it, why you’re accomplishing it, and get it done.
Use the hashtag to share your latest project. This community is all about sharing, so if you’ve recently completed something (because that takes discipline, right?!) share it with the army! This is a great way to push your work out there.
Ask questions. Have you hit a rut in your latest endeavor? Not sure how to get through something difficult? Now is a GREAT time to ask and get feedback. Answers appear only when you ask.
Give yourself a ‘Power Hour’. If you still have time to spare before bed, use the power hour concept we picked up from Sakita Holley to make progress on that one task that was nagging you during the chat. You’ll feel better for doing so, your work will thank you, and you’ll be taking a step forward on the road to discipline.
